Tesla makes the headlines for most of the right reasons. But in tragic cases like this high speed collision between a Tesla Model 3 and a fire truck in Indiana, everyone’s first order of business seems to be determining whether autopilot played a role. In the Indiana crash from December 29th, that is still uncertain and very much under investigation. According to Reuters, the National Highway and Traffic Safety Association has investigated 23 crashes involving driver assistant systems and of those, 14 have involved a Tesla.
More crashes have been investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board. According to Reuters, NHTSA has investigated 23 crashes involving driver assist systems. Of those, 14 (including this one) have involved a Tesla.
